A committed and determined witness for God, Pastor Theodore R. ”Ted” McRae, Jr., continues to build on the foundation of what is today his unwavering love for Christ. His desire and knowledge of God’s word can be easily traced back to both his familial roots and early Christian childhood in Syracuse, New York.
The son, of the late Superintendent of District # 14, Reverend Theodore McRae (which was later renamed in his honor) and the late Shepard Mother Adele McRae. Pastor McRae could be found singing in the State Conference Choir, playing keyboards, or drums for local churches or groups as he traveled the country.
The Bible says “Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart” and as a Man of the Gospel he knows all to well the true meaning, value and impact of this scripture.
Pastor McRae has committed himself to empowering God’s people by preaching his testimony and sharing the powerful move of God through his life. Pastor McRae not only has committed himself to preaching and teaching God’s word but as an accomplished vocalist, he can be heard providing both Lead and background vocals on several Gospel albums for musical greats like the Ingram Singers, Pastor Marc Cooper and Friends,
Miami Mass Choir, Bishop A.J. Wright, a Tribe Called Judah and the Miami New Birth Full Gospel Mass Choir.
Pastor McRae as a man has found himself as an Educator for the Miami-Dade School District knows the impact he has on the lives of children everyday and respects the impact of sound teaching on a child’s life. As the 2010 Teacher of the Year for Miami-Northwestern Senior High School and Regional Finalist. Pastor McRae is greatly involved as Designated Building Steward on the behalf of the United Teachers of Dade County and the School EESAC Committee. He is known by his students and others as “Dad” as he is to many them a Father-figure. Pastor McRae’s true belief is that our children are our future leaders in the church, politics, business and economic growth. In January 2002 under the leadership of Pastor Vincent E. Teague of Schenectady,
New York, Pastor McRae’s Ministry endeavors commenced with his acceptance of God’s will for his life as he was humbly ushered into the Gospel preaching and teaching the unadulterated word of God at New Bethel Community COGIC. As Minister, he would later be called to serve as Director of Men’s Ministry at the Cooper Temple COGIC Upper Room Ministries of Miami, Florida led by Superintendent Marc Cooper.
In 2006 while under the tutelage of Bishop Norman McCray Sr., Minister McRae was assigned the position Minister of Music for the Miracle Valley Praise and Worship Center. And in 2008, Minister McRae was ordained as Elder and assigned as overseer of the Men’s Ministry for the Preparing Souls for the Kingdom Conference where he served until 2010. In May of 2010, Pastor McRae along with his wife, Melissa believing their purpose and assignment heeded God’s call and Abundant Life Ministries of South Florida, Inc. was birthed.
Pastor Ted and Lady Melissa believe in family and its importance in both community and Kingdom.
The McRae’s are the proud parents of four children, four granddaughters, one grandson and are God parents and role models in Christ to those they encounter.
